personalised 1:1 online support and psychoeducation

A plant doesn’t struggle to grow because something is wrong with it. It grows slowly because the conditions aren’t right.

Do you feel like you’re always running on empty? Like you genuinely want to do something, but you can’t seem to get started? Or that being around people for two hours takes two full days to recover?

This service is designed specifically for young people aged 16–25 who find themselves stuck, exhausted, anxious, and identify as neurodivergent.

So, what’s actually going on?

Most young people who find their way here have spent years feeling like they are too sensitive, too lazy, or just too much. You don’t need to push yourself harder. You just need to understand how you actually work, and why. You might recognise yourself if you are dealing with:

You want to do things, especially things you really care about, but you feel physically unable to start for no obvious reason.

You feel like your anxiety is constantly turned up to high, making unknown situations or expectations feel like real threats.

You spend all your energy keeping it together when you are out of the house, and then collapse the second you get home.

You are barely holding on at college, uni or work. Or maybe you have had to step away completely because it all got too much.

I created Inside Neurodiversity to help you make sense of why it can feel so hard.

In weekly, one-to-one online sessions, we’ll work together to look in detail at the things that most neurodivergent people tend to struggle with. We’ll look at the actual science behind why your brain and nervous system work the way they do, and we’ll apply it directly to what’s happening right now in your own life. By the end of each session, you’ll have a better understanding of a part of yourself that has probably felt confusing or unfair for a really long time.

What this is (and isn’t)

A fixed number of sessions to explore different areas that many neurodivergent people struggle with, reframing your experiences and giving you tools to make things easier.

You choose how you show up each session. Camera can be on or off. Chatty high energy, low mood slump, or anything in between.

Our focus will be on the specific areas covered by the service, delivered with a safe, trauma-informed approach. It is not open-ended counselling or mental health support.

No Formal Diagnosis Required

You do not need an official diagnosis to be here. NHS waiting lists are long, and formal assessments can miss how neurodivergence actually presents. Whether you are formally diagnosed, waiting for an assessment, self-identified, or simply suspect your brain works differently – you are welcome here, exactly as you are.

The Inside-Out Sessions

Most of the things we cover are things you’ve been living with for years without ever having them properly explained. That’s what each of these sessions is for. Click on each one for more information.

A free, 30-minute zero-pressure chat to check the vibe, see if you think you can talk to me, and make sure my style feels like a good fit.

Understanding your body’s built-in alarm system, why “just calm down” never works, and how to help your system settle when you are overwhelmed.

“I am exhausted all the time and I don’t know why. Things that don’t bother other people bother me unbearably. I’ve been told I’m oversensitive, dramatic, or difficult.”

Unpacking sensory overload, why daily environments drain your battery so fast, and discovering what your body needs to feel safe and steady.

“I don’t always know what I’m feeling until it’s too late. People tell me I should have known I was hungry, tired, or upset, and I genuinely didn’t.”

Decoding your body’s internal signals. Why physical clues arrive late or don’t make sense, and how to track simple body signals instead of guessing.

“I feel things more intensely than other people. I’ve been told I’m too sensitive or ‘too much.’ In social situations I’m often misread. People think I don’t care when I do, or that I’m cold when I’m not.”

Understanding what emotions really are, why they can hit harder and faster for some people, or arrive so late that you don’t know what they are really about.

“I can’t make myself start things. I zone out when I need to focus and hyperfocus when I shouldn’t. I forget things, lose track of time, and feel stuck rather than lazy.”

Learning how your interest-based focus actually works, why your attention goes where it goes, and dropping the unfair label of “lazy.”

“I am exhausted in a way that sleep doesn’t fix. I have been performing a version of myself for so long I don’t know who I actually am underneath. Some days I can barely function and I don’t understand why.”

Understanding why your energy runs out faster than other people’s, what masking is actually costing you, and how to start protecting what you do have.

“I find friendships really hard. I say the wrong thing, I miss signals, or I feel like I’m working much harder than the other person just to fit in.”

Understanding confusing communication, handling the fear of rejection, and finding easier ways to connect without performing.

“I am my own harshest critic. I hold myself to standards I’d never apply to anyone else. When I make a mistake I replay it for days, and I don’t know if I’ll ever feel good enough.”

Tracing where that loud internal voice came from, and starting to understand why it isn’t giving you an accurate picture of who you are.

“I see things in black and white. I feel injustice incredibly strongly, find it almost impossible to let things go, and need situations to be resolved immediately.”

Understanding why your brain reaches for fixed rules when things feel uncertain, and how your strong sense of justice is a strength the world needs.

“When things go wrong, they feel catastrophic. I spiral and can’t stop. When something good is happening I’m waiting for it to fall apart, feeling everything at total extremes.”

Understanding why your brain jumps straight to the worst possible outcome, how to slow that spiral down, and how to let good things actually feel good.

“Things seem simple in my head but fall apart in reality. I can finish a project completely in my imagination and never start it in real life, or get completely stuck in ‘waiting mode.’

Understanding why your head and the real world don’t always match up, how your brain experiences time differently, and what to do with an imagination that never switches off.

“I know what I need to do. I want to do it. I cannot make myself start. And when I do start, either I can’t stop or I can’t finish.”

Understanding why starting things can feel impossible even when you genuinely want to do them, what’s actually driving that paralysis, and what kinds of things can get your brain moving again.

“I want to understand my unique strengths, and start exploring what I actually want for my life without feeling pressured or overwhelmed.”

Reflecting on your journey, highlighting your positive traits and strengths, and starting to think about your future self.

About Me

Hi, I’m Rachel. I am AuDHD myself and a parent to two neurodivergent sons, both now adults. I have lived, first-hand, almost everything I talk about in these sessions, from the exhaustion of masking and social awkwardness, to struggling with “adulting” and regular cycles of burnout. After spending the last few years mentoring young people with a wide range of neurodivergent experiences, I have seen how many are struggling to simply survive in a world that seems to be getting more intense for those of us who weren’t designed for productivity culture. I have gained qualifications in Understanding Autism, ADHD Awareness and Counselling Skills, and I am engaging in ongoing professional counsellor training.

I’ve spent years reading the research, but I promise it won’t feel like a science lesson. I’ll explain things the way I wish someone had talked to me and in a way that makes sense even when your brain is overloaded. This is a space where you can show up exactly as you are. Nothing about you needs explaining or justifying.

I’ve spent too much time watching young people believe that they are “broken” versions of everyone else. I’ve seen the toll it takes on them and their families, and I wanted to do something real to help them develop the self-compassion and self-acceptance they need to move forward. Waiting lists are long, and social media can be as confusing as it is helpful. I set up this service for people who don’t want to wait to be “fixed.” I strongly believe that understanding yourself and your needs better can help close the gap between what you know you’re capable of and what you’re actually able to do on any given day. I want you to finally have an explanation for why things have been so hard, so you can stop blaming yourself for how your brain is wired and start advocating for what you really need.
